Board of Commissioners Vacancy – Seeking Candidates

Position No. 3—North Shore/South Bay/Sudden Valley (partial)

Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District is seeking candidates to fill a position on the Board of Commissioners. Applicants must live within the boundary that comprises Commissioner District No. 3 which includes the north shore of Lake Whatcom outside of Bellingham city limits wrapping around the south end of the Lake and extending into Sudden Valley Divisions 25, 27, 28, and 30.

The appointed person will serve from their appointment date until a candidate is elected in the November 2027 election. If the appointed person wishes to continue to serve on the Board, they must run for election in the Fall of 2027. The person elected at that time will serve the remainder of the unexpired term which ends December 31, 2031. Minimum qualifications for the position are:

1. Must reside within the boundaries of Commissioner District Position No. 3 as described above and shown on the maps below.
2. Must be a citizen of the United States.
3. Must be a registered voter within Commissioner District No. 3.
