Agencies Announce Partnership
District and SVCA commit support to each other for response to COVID-19
Bellingham, Washington (March 20, 2020)
The Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District provides water and sewer service to all of the Sudden Valley Community Association’s members. As relatively small organizations with limited staffing, the District and SVCA have a long history of routinely partnering to more effectively provide necessary services to the Sudden Valley community. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic impacting how both organizations conduct their day-to-day business, leadership of the two organizations has recently increased communication and committed support, as may be appropriate, to each other should either’s staffing or resources become directly impacted.
“With ever changing conditions, we must proactively plan for what operational challenges tomorrow may bring. By partnering with the SVCA, the District can help ensure continuity of services to the Sudden Valley community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated District General Manager Justin Clary.
SVCA General Manager Joe Acla added “During these uncertain times, it is very important that we work in a cooperative manner with Lake Whatcom Sewer and Water to provide service continuity to the Community.”
