Lake Whatcom Water & Sewer District, a special purpose government providing municipal water and sewer service in the Sudden Valley/Geneva/North Shore areas near Bellingham, Washington, is presently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Technician.

This position plays an essential role in the District’s operations and serves as a primary point of contact for many of our customers. Responsibilities include preparing and processing monthly utility billing, maintaining customer accounts, receiving and posting payments, responding to billing questions and other customer concerns, coordinating work orders for field staff, and assisting with meter reading activities. The position also serves as the District’s first point of contact for coordinating portions of the development and utility connection process. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately manage financial information while balancing multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. This position works closely with customers, property managers, real estate professionals, District staff, and other members of the public.

The District offers excellent benefits, including WA State PERS Retirement, health/dental/vision insurance, a voluntary deferred compensation program with District contribution after one year, an HRA voluntary employee benefits account, and vacation and sick leave. The salary range is $33.32 to $42.16 per hour, DOQ. The position is represented by the AFSCME bargaining unit.
